Who We Are?

About us

Liverpool Peniel Christian Church

Liverpool Peniel Christian Church is a Pentecostal fellowship committed to the love of Christ and dedicated to the expansion of God’s Kingdom. Our desire is to glorify Jesus through worship, prayer, teaching, and service to the community.

In accordance with God’s vision and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, a small fellowship began on 22 January 2006 in a home in Liverpool. From these humble beginnings, the Lord has continued to lead, strengthen, and establish the ministry for His purposes.

Through God’s direction and vision, the ministry is established today as Liverpool Peniel Christian Church, serving the community from Linacre Methodist Mission, 123–129 Linacre Road, Litherland, Merseyside, L21 8NS, United Kingdom. We remain committed to proclaiming the Gospel, nurturing believers, and fulfilling the Great Commission with the strength that He provides.

Our Pastor

Liverpool Peniel Christian Church

I am Pastor Johnson John (Shaji), born and raised in a Roman Catholic family. At the age of sixteen, the Lord Jesus Christ found me, called me into His service, and I accepted Him as my personal Saviour. I was baptised in April 1981 and later pursued theological studies at three different biblical institutions in India.

Following my studies, God entrusted me with ministry responsibilities in New Delhi and in various parts of India, blessing me with spiritual gifts and the fullness of the Holy Spirit to serve His people.

According to God’s plan and purpose, my family moved to the United Kingdom in October 2002, and I joined them in April 2003. For nearly three years, I served alongside another servant of God before being led by the Holy Spirit to begin a new ministry in Liverpool.

On 22 January 2006, a small fellowship began in a home in Liverpool. Over the years, the Lord graciously enabled me to minister across Liverpool, Wirral, and Chester, leading many to the truth of the Gospel. By God’s grace, twenty‑two people were baptised during this period (as of December 2011), and many more were strengthened in their walk with Christ.

My ministry continues to be guided by the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19–20 —
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…” —
and by the apostolic mandate in Colossians 1:28 —
“Proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom…”

I remain committed to serving the Lord wholeheartedly for the expansion of His Kingdom and for the glory of His name. Under God’s direction and vision, the ministry is established as Liverpool Peniel Christian Church, where I continue to serve wholeheartedly through the power He provides.

Our Belief

(i) Having sixty six books, both the Old and New Testaments, and verbally inspired of God and is the complete revelation of God’s will for the salvation for men, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life

(ii) God- The Eternal, True and Holy Trinity is one God existing in three personalities, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

(iii) Man – The creation of man was in the likeness of God, that he had a great fall when he transgressed God’s commandment and that only Christ the Son of God can restore the fallen man to his pristine glory.

(iv) Repentance – The fallen man should approach God with true repentance for sins and faith in the atoning death of Jesus Christ.

(v) Justification – The man is justified by faith and that guilt is pardoned by the blood of Jesus Christ.

(vi) Regeneration – The man is born of God through the Holy Spirit and the word of God.

(vii) Water Baptism – To become one in Christ a believer should be baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit by immersion in water and thus become part-takers of the burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

(viii) Separation – A believer should be separated from sin, sinners, false doctrines and all kinds of worship contrary to the Bible.

(ix) Lord’s Supper – The Lord’s Supper is to be celebrated regularly until Jesus Christ comes, to commemorate the death of Jesus.

(x) Baptism in the Holy Spirit – A believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit, that the initial sign of speaking in tongues follows the baptism of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues though same in essence is different in its use and operation from that of the gift of tongues.

(xi) Divine Healing – Since temporal healing is included in the Sacrifice on the cross by Jesus Christ for atonement of sins, a believer should take it as a right and privilege to get bodily healing by prayer and faith.

(xii) Sanctification – A believer is sanctified by the Blood of Jesus Christ by the word of God and by the Holy Spirit.

(xiii) The Church – The church is the congregation of believers; whose faith and experience should confirm to and stand steadfast in the teaching of the apostles in the New Testament.

(xiv) The Ministry – The ministries of the church such as Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Teachers, Evangelists and Deacons, must be those who are called by the Holy Spirit, bestowed with gifts according to their different calling.

(xv) Evangelization – Evangelization is the supreme duty and privilege of the church.

(xvi) Second coming of Jesus Christ – Jesus Christ is coming soon in the sky and the bride (believers) will be taken up with Him when he comes.

(xvii) Great Tribulation – There will be a great tribulation on the earth when Anti-Christ will be in his power soon after the coming of Jesus Christ in the sky and the Rapture of the Bible.

(xviii) The Millennium – At the end of the tribulation Jesus will come to the earth in all his glory with His saints and establish His own kingdom of righteousness for a thousand years.

(xix) The Great Judgment – After the millennium Satan and his hosts will be cast for ever into the lake of fire and there will be judgment before the Great White Throne for all the wicked who also will receive the same punishment.

(xx) New Heaven and Earth – At the time of the great judgment this present earth and heaven shall be burned up with fire and a New Heaven and a New Earth shall appear.
